The Clermont Northeastern Rockets fell victim to the Williamsburg Wildcats''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 41-0 loss at the hands of the Wildcats. While losing is never fun, Clermont Northeastern can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 649th, while Williamsburg is ranked 247th).
Jj Miller was a one-man wrecking crew for Williamsburg as he threw for 253 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 136 yards on only seven carries. Miller's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Pierce Ayers also helped out with an impressive 162 receiving yards.
Clermont Northeastern's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 2.0 points per game. As for Williamsburg, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
Clermont Northeastern does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Williamsburg will be playing in front of their home fans against Dixie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dixie is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
