The Williams Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 68-52 bruising from Eastern Alamance. Williams was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Eastern Alamance apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Brian Williams and Jaeden Smith certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Williams scored seven points along with 17 rebounds, while Smith scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Milton Turner, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Michael Reaves continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Eastern Alamance, scoring 26 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Reaves has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Matthews, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Williams' loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Eastern Alamance, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williams will face off against Western Alamance at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Western Alamance will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. As for Eastern Alamance, they will head out on the road to challenge Cedar Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 526th, while Eastern Alamance is ranked 199th).
