National Trail is 2-7 against Preble Shawnee since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The National Trail Blazers will head out on the road to face off against the Preble Shawnee Arrows at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
National Trail scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They snuck past Mississinawa Valley with a 67-62 win. The win was a breath of fresh air for National Trail as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, Preble Shawnee put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 61-17 win over Franklin Monroe on the road. Given Preble Shawnee's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Franklin Monroe is ranked 162nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
National Trail's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Preble Shawnee, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
National Trail took a serious blow against Preble Shawnee in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 79-23. Can National Trail avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
