The Guadalupe Centers Aztecs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their ninth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 59-20 loss at the hands of Ozanam. Guadalupe Centers was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-12.
When it comes to explaining why Guadalupe Centers lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anthony Torres. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Talan Olmstead was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 22 rebounds for Ozanam. Olmstead is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Skylar Horn, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Guadalupe Centers dropped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Ozanam, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
Guadalupe Centers will be playing at home against the Gryphons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. University Academy Charter has now lost 17 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. As for Ozanam, they will head out on the road to challenge the at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Frontier School of Excellence and the are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
