Basketball Game Preview: Parkdale Panthers vs. Rosedale Christian Academy Rosedale Panthers

The Parkdale Panthers and the Rosedale Christian Academy Rosedale Panthers will round out the year against one another at at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Parkdale comes in on five and Rosedale Christian Academy on eight.

Last Thursday, Parkdale really took it to Bladensburg for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-8 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-4.

Layla Burton was her usual excellent self, going 9 for 18 on her way to 23 points and seven steals. Her evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Hannah Youn was another key player, going 7 of 10 on her way to 14 points and six rebounds.

Parkdale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Rosedale Christian Academy didn't have too much trouble with Urbana on Saturday as they won 50-32. Given the Rosedale Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Hawks are ranked 84th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Parkdale's record is now 5-0. As for Rosedale Christian Academy, their record now sits at 10-2.

Parkdale didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Rosedale Christian Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 38-34 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Parkdale since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
