Loyalsock Township is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Sayre with a sharp 16-1 victory on Monday. The Lancers have beaten the Redskins the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Redskins has come to flipping the script.
Dolan Harman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Harman was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other pitching news, John Kiehl looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Drake Dupont and Chase Wright did most of the damage at the plate: Dupont went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Wright went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Jacob Baylor was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Loyalsock Township was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Lewisburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Mount Carmel, falling 19-3.
Lewisburg saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landynn Bieber, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Max Pfirman also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Loyalsock Township's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Lewisburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3-1.
Loyalsock Township took their victory against Lewisburg in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 17-1 score. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Green Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
