The Taylorsville Warriors fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They rang in the new year with a 62-51 victory over Granger on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Taylorsville also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Taylorsville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bronson Dallimore led the charge by dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. The game was Dallimore's third in a row with at least ten points. Daniel Healy was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, Granger still got an impressive performance from Daudi Aweyso, who scored 35 points along with six rebounds. Aweyso scored a full 68.6% of Granger's points, the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Stephen Kpaleh, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Taylorsville's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6. As for Granger, their defeat was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Taylorsville will take on Cyprus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cyprus' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games. As for Granger, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Kearns at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Kearns is ranked 110th, while Granger is ranked 126th).
