Baseball Recap: Ithaca's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

Ithaca made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hemlock, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The Yellowjackets' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Collin Thrush spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Ithaca's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Hemlock, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ithaca will venture away from home to challenge Chesaning at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hemlock, they will take on Bullock Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
