Bethlehem Center extended their losing streak to six on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-6. They fell 8-4 to the California Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-1 on Tuesday.
Bethlehem Center saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Lloyd, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.
As for California, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games.
On California's side, Weston Monticelli made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, Monticelli posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaden Weston, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan Hartley, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Looking ahead, Bethlehem Center will challenge Uniontown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for California, they will face off against West Greene at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Pioneers will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
