The Central Academy Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 60-25 loss at the hands of West Stanly. Central Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-13.
When it comes to explaining why Central Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zach Mcdowell. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Drew Butler, who scored four points along with four blocks.
Central Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for West Stanly, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-9.
Central Academy will square off against Anson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Anson is on a four-game streak of home losses, Central Academy a 14-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. West Stanly will take on Parkwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkwood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 games -- so hopefully West Stanly likes a good challenge.
