The North Edgecombe Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Wilson Prep Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Edgecombe will be strutting in after a victory while Wilson Prep will be coming in after a loss.
Even though North Edgecombe has not done well against Weldon recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. North Edgecombe took down Weldon 46-29.
Teana Ransome and Ke'Ziyah Pittman were among the main playmakers for North Edgecombe as the former scored 13 points and the latter scored 14 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Pittman has scored at least 25% of North Edgecombe's points. ShyNiya Ricks was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Meanwhile, Wilson Prep's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Northampton County 64-17. Wilson Prep has not had much luck with Northampton County recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Washington County's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while North Edgecombe's loss dropped theirs to 0-1.
North Edgecombe strolled past Wilson Prep in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 43-28. Will North Edgecombe repeat their success, or does Wilson Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
