Cocalico put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 42-14 win over Berks Catholic. With Cocalico ahead 21-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Cocalico relied on the efforts of Aaryn Longenecker, who rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and P. Dane Horning, who rushed for 201 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Longenecker was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards.
Meanwhile, Conrad Weiser fell victim to Lampeter-Strasburg's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Pioneers at home and fell 42-0. While losing is never fun, Conrad Weiser can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 317th, while Lampeter-Strasburg is ranked 70th).
Cocalico's victory was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.2 points. As for Conrad Weiser, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
