MILTON, Ga. - the Chiefs scored 20 points in the first quarter to secure a big 36-11 victory over
Cambridge (Milton, Ga.) on Saturday.
Sequoyah scored on a
Jake Garner touchdown run, a touchdown pass by
Lex Lauletta to
Nick Falco and a Lauletta touchdown pass to
Blake Miller in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a Garner touchdown run in the first quarter, SHS was up 33-11 at the half.
Cambridge's only touchdown came on a 2-yard run by
JD White in the second quarter.
The Canton school entered the contest giving up 19.4 points per game this year. The defense really stepped up, holding the Bears well below their season average of 22.9 points scored per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 42-0 win for Sequoyah.
The loss comes after Cambridge defeated North Springs 52-23 last week. With the win SHS extended its winning streak to four games.
