After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Central Catholic, Nelson was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Clackamas Cavaliers with a sharp 16-6 victory. Considering Nelson has won six games by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Nelson got a massive performance out of Rylee Erickson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most hits Erickson has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Adalynn Hazel, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
Nelson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clackamas only posted an OBP of .318.
Nelson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Clackamas, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
