The Alexandria City Titans pushed their score all the way to 58 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 66-58 to Woodson. Alexandria City was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Woodson apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Darius Bivins and Kye Robinson certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Bivins scored 17 points along with six assists and five steals, while Robinson scored 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That was a full 34.5% of Alexandria City's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Burbage, who scored five points.
Woodson found their leader in underclassman Kaylen Chilton, who scored 31 points along with two steals and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chilton has scored all season. Theo Burke was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Alexandria City's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-4. As for Woodson, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Alexandria City will head out on the road to square off against Robinson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Robinson: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Alexandria City has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road. Woodson will take on West Potomac at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with West Potomac sitting on four straight wins and Woodson on three.
