The result came thanks to  Luke Sems's shutout, as he gave up just three  hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side, Pine Island's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Brandon Week, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base. Week has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times he's  played.
As for Caledonia, they moved to 16-6 with that  loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. Having soared to a lofty 13  runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
