This season hasn't been kind to the Cristo Rey Saints, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They were dealt a 74-9 defeat at the hands of Valley Christian on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cristo Rey has scored all season.
Valley Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Matthew Larson, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ian Glaspy, who scored seven points along with nine assists and seven rebounds.
Cristo Rey's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-8. As for Valley Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Faith Christian the next time they take the court. Cristo Rey will host Faith Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Valley Christian will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
