Skyline is 5-0 against West since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Skyline Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the West Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Skyline focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
Even though Skyline has not done well against Highland recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Skyline snuck past Highland with a 49-43 win. Skyline didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.
Cami Groberg continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with nine rebounds and five blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Johnson, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, West can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 78-48 win over East. With West ahead 44-23 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kylee Falatea, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Falatea hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Kaydence Falatea, who shot 4-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds.
Skyline's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10. West's record now sits at 8-5.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's contest: Skyline have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 5.8 threes per game. It's a different story for West, though, as they've been averaging only 4.8 threes per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Skyline took their win against West in their previous matchup back in December of 2021 by a conclusive 58-33. Will Skyline repeat their success, or does West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
