Make it eight blowout wins for the Dysart Demons this season. They breezed by Tempe on the road to the tune of 77-43. Given Dysart's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Tempe is ranked 231st), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dysart to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nate Morales, who scored 19 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Nigel Anderson, who scored 13 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Tempe still got an impressive performance from Jacob Anau, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anau has scored all season. Arthur Murphy was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Dysart's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points per game. As for Tempe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dysart on the road again on Thursday and play against Apache Junction at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Apache Junction is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Tempe, they will head out on the road to face off against Cortez at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cortez is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 63.3 points per game.
