If the Hagerman Pirates were riding high off their 75-24 takedown of the Shoshone Indians on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Hagerman lost to Lighthouse Christian at home by a decisive 66-52 margin on Friday. Hagerman has struggled against Lighthouse Christian recently, as their match on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Martin Gonzalez, who scored 20 points. Gonzalez scored a full 38.5% of Hagerman's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Wyatt Mavencamp was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Hagerman's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lighthouse Christian, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hagerman will play host again and welcome Sun Valley Community, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lighthouse Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Shoshone at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
