It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Chrisman Cardinals can now relate to. They had to suffer through a rough 49-15 loss at the hands of the Storm. While losing is never fun, Chrisman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 598th, while Salt Fork is ranked 194th).
Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lyndsi Smith, who scored three points along with three steals and three blocks. It was the first time this season that Smith posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Jones, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
Chrisman's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-20. As for Salt Fork, the victory was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-5.
Chrisman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Salt Fork, they will take on Arcola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Arcola is coming into the match with ten straight wins on the road, so Salt Fork is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
