It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 73-22, which was the final score in Priest River's tilt against Grangeville on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Priest River has scored all season.
Grangeville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Madalyn Green out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Green hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Caryss Barger, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Priest River and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Grangeville, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.
Priest River will head out on the road to square off against Newport at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Newport is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Grangeville, Grangeville and Kamiah will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Kamiah is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
