The Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Payson Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Payson took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Bourgade Catholic, who comes in off a win.
Bourgade Catholic took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against ALA - Ironwood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Golden Eagles had just enough and edged out the Warriors 7-6 on Thursday.

Tyson Trujilo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Bourgade Catholic is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-12 otherwise. Trujilo was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ramon Rojas, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Alexander Guzak, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Bourgade Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Payson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Northwest Christian, falling 14-4.
Bourgade Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-13 record this season. As for Payson, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.
Bourgade Catholic skirted past Payson 4-3 in their previous matchup on Monday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
