The Hector Wildcats will square off against the Hackett Hornets at 11:06 a.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Hackett will be up against a hot Hector team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Wildcats never let Danville get on the board and left with a 17-0 win last Friday. Considering the Wildcats have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Sarena Myers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, earning two runs and five stolen bases. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.6 stolen bases per game.

In other batting news, Aliza Keeling was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Addison Campbell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Hector always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Danville only posted an OBP of .000.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hackett). They were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over Danville on Monday. With that victory, the Hornets brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
The team relied heavily on Michaelyn Freeman, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kassitey Hill, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Hector's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Hackett, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-5.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hector hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .582. However, it's not like Hackett struggles in that department as they've averaged .341. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hector suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Hackett in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
