The Platteview Trojans are taking a road trip to take on the Gretna East Griffins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Platteview is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Ralston on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Trojans were outmatched by the Rams and fell 40-13. The Trojans have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Gretna East waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Blue Devils 38-7. Considering the Griffins have won three contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Platteview better keep an eye on Connor Sams. He was instrumental in Gretna East's win, rushing for 221 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Sams has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Grow, who rushed for 35 yards and one score.
