The Bellevue Wolverines posted their closest win yet this season on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-53 win over Holy Names Academy. This was payback for Bellevue, who suffered a 70-52 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Bellevue found their leader in underclassman Syesha Simanton, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Simanton has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Dex, who scored nine points.
Bellevue is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Holy Names Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Bellevue will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Lake Washington at 7:15 p.m. Lake Washington has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 311 points over their last five games. As for Holy Names Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Lakeside at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakeside will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive.
