The Fort Bend Christian Academy Eagles will face off against HCYA at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Bend Christian Academy is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
Fort Bend Christian Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Stratford two weeks ago but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 7-6.

Reese Heflin put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off 13 hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.
Heflin wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ella Romo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-5.
Meanwhile, everything went HCYA's way against Texas City on Friday as HCYA made off with a 15-5 win. HCYA might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.
Haley Hodgson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February.
At the plate, HCYA let Sarah Horne and Kiran Kyham run wild. Horne scored four runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while Kyham went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave Horne a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaden Richardson, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
HCYA kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.
HCYA has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. Fort Bend Christian Academy now has a losing record of 7-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Fort Bend Christian Academy hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like HCYA struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Fort Bend Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from HCYA in their previous meeting back in February.
