Saginaw is on a nine-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), South Hills a nine-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Saginaw Rough Riders will take on the South Hills Scorpions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
After soaring to 33 points the game before, Saginaw were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were outmatched by The Colony on the road and fell 42-10. Saginaw was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-3.
Meanwhile, South Hills was beaten by Azle 57-20 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, South Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 979th, while Azle is ranked 431st).
The losses dropped both teams to an identical 0-9.
Everything came up roses for Saginaw against South Hills when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 52-7 victory. Will Saginaw repeat their success, or does South Hills have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
