3A Region IV District 27 recap September 24, 2013
Fredericksburg's Kyle Grona recorded the longest rushing play in 3A Region IV District 27 this season in his game against Lampasas last week. Grona's team defeated the Badgers as he sprinted for 68 yards on the play and finished with 122 in all.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Navarro beat Marion 42-13,. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Panthers.
Bandera's dynamic duo of Joe Rodriguez and Landon Ventura proved to be unstoppable against Comfort, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Rodriguez threw for 175 yards and 3 touchdowns and Ventura had 70 yards receiving. Caleb Beauchamp helped Bandera's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 51 yards.
The BULLDOGS's dynamic duo of Rodriguez and Ventura proved tough for the Bobcats/Deer to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
He went 18-31 with 1 interception.
Rodriguez put up the best numbers through the air as Bandera lost to Comfort.
Ventura was the best wideout in the league this week as David T Sine's team lost to Michael harbuck's team.
Evan Deleon was the best running back in 3A Region IV District 27 this week. In 22 carries, he ran for 130 yards as Navarro fell to the Bobcats/Deer. Teammate Luke Jarosewski added to the ground attack by rushing for 88 yards.
David Snelling provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Boerne bested Llano. He completed 10 passes for 112 yards and also ran for 113 yards. Snelling's key target this week was Hunter Lees, who caught 4 passes for 52 yards.
The Greyhounds' Snelling and Lees have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Snelling has thrown for 860 yards this season, while Lees has 24 catches for 454 yards. Jarosewski from Les Goad's team leads the league in rushing with 456 yards.
Boerne scaled the state rankings by moving to 662 from 788 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Mike Dormady's team climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Yellowjackets 14-0.
