The Hanover Hawks put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past Pembroke 31-8. The result was nothing new for Hanover, who have now won four matches by 22 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hanover to victory, but perhaps none more so than Vincent Mancini, who rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown. Ben Scalzi was another key contributor, throwing for 170 yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Pembroke still got an impressive performance from Will McNamara, who picked up 117 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Hanover's win was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.4 points per game. As for Pembroke, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Hanover will head out on the road to face off against North Quincy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Quincy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Hanover is ranked ninth). As for Pembroke, they will be playing at home against Plymouth South at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
