The Garfield Rams lost against the Ellet Orangemen back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Garfield took a serious blow against Ellet, falling 64-26. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Garfield in their matchups with Ellet: they've now lost four in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ellet to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sanaiiya Gray, who scored 18 points. Royalty Crooks was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Garfield's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Ellet, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garfield will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Austintown-Fitch at 11:30 a.m. on December 28th. Hopefully Austintown-Fitch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Saturday. Ellet will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cuyahoga Falls at 6:00 p.m. on December 29th.
