South Summit has gone a perfect 10-0 against Millard recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The two teams, after both having extra time off, will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field at 3:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South Summit has four straight victories, Millard has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Wednesday, South Summit made easy work of North Summit and carried off a 16-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.
Sara Duke was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. Adeline Aste was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
South Summit was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .737. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles last Friday. Millard lost 11-4 to Duchesne.
Millard saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Berkley Stephens, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.
South Summit's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Millard, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. South Summit has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .473. However, it's not like Millard struggles in that department as they've averaged .441. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went South Summit's way against Millard when the teams last played back in March, as South Summit made off with a 19-13 win. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
