Williston is a perfect 6-0 against Hawthorne since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Red Devils will head out to challenge the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Williston is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Williston will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Chiefland on Friday. The Red Devils came out on top against the Indians by a score of 10-6.

Aiden Phillips was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Williston is undefeated when Phillips allows one or fewer earned runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Phillips was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Daxton Weston was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Will Conquest was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Williston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chiefland only posted a batting average of .148.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hawthorne). Everything went their way against Cedar Key last Friday as they made off with a 31-0 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Like Williston, Hawthorne also got a great game from a two-way player: Wyatt Jacobs. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Jacobs has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, Caleb Jacobs was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. Another player making a difference was Connor Flinchum, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI.
Williston is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Hawthorne, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Williston got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Hawthorne by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Red Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
