Basketball Recap: Spanish River Comes Up Short

The matchup between Spanish River and Park Vista on Wednesday hardly resembled the 29-17 effort from their previous meeting. The Spanish River Sharks took a 67-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Park Vista Cobras. The Sharks were probably out for revenge after losing 29-17 to them when the teams met back in February of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Spanish River still got an impressive performance from Ellie Neuman, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 boards. Those 19 points gave Neuman a new career-high. Emma Feinstein was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Park Vista found their leader in freshman Tyaiwana Ousley, who dropped a triple-double on 42 points, 12 boards, and 12 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ousley has scored at least a third of Park Vista's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Cortes, who posted 12 points.

Spanish River has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Park Vista, they moved to 3-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Spanish River will venture away from home to challenge Atlantic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Park Vista, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-19 victory against Leonard on the 12th.
