The Princeton Eagles came tearing into Tuesday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Plumas Charter by a score of 76-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Junior Andrade continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 9-for-14 from deep and dropping a double-double on 33 points and 14 assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Princeton's points. Nate Ramirez was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Despite the defeat, Plumas Charter saw an underclassman step up: Dalton Bentz scored 27 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Bentz hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Joseph, who scored 15 points.
Princeton pushed their record up to 16-1 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points per game. As for Plumas Charter, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Princeton will face off against Westwood at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Westwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1364th, while Princeton is ranked 620th). As for Plumas Charter, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Loyalton at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. One thing working in Loyalton's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
