The East Central Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the New Braunfels Unicorns at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After soaring to 58 points the game before, East Central were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They were dealt a 49-12 loss at the hands of Judson. East Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-6.
Although East Central took the loss, they still got scores from Deirionn Smith-cline and Austin Vivier.
Meanwhile, New Braunfels' 8-4 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 27-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Steele two Thursdays ago. While losing is never fun, New Braunfels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 201st, while Steele is ranked 17th).
East Central's defeat on Friday also dropped their record down to 2-4. New Braunfels has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
East Central might still be hurting after the 34-13 defeat they got from New Braunfels in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Can East Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
