Video: High school sports movie locations
Take a Google Earth tour of these cinematic prep venues.
Punahou (Honolulu) has eight sports teams that have won over 30 state titles in their history, but the Buff 'N Blue are not No. 1 among teams with the most state titles.
That honor goes to St. Xavier (Louisville, Ky.) boys swimming, which has won 56 state championships since 1947, including the last 32 in a row. St. Xavier's boys tennis team is also on the Top 100 teams with the most state championships, coming in at a tie for No. 72 with 27 state championships.
Punahou's girls swimming team is No. 3 on the list with 53 state titles while the boys swimming team and the boys tennis team are tied at No. 5 with 49 total. The girls tennis team is also in the top 10 with 46 titles.
The Top 100 list is based off of the National Federation of High School record book, along with state association record books, and specific high school team websites. Team are listed with their first state championship, their most recent and the longest consecutive state championship winning streak.
Only state championships were included, not section championships as would be the case for California. Schools that play in leagues such as the MIAA, IAAM and the IAC were not included because they did not have state championships. New Jersey group championships were counted, including football. Mythical state championships were included for football.

John Curtis Christian has won 26 Louisiana state football titles.
