Hoosic Valley is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Waterford-Halfmoon on Monday. The Hawks put the hurt on the Fordians with a sharp 7-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Fordians: they've now won four in a row.

Ella Waldron was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Hayley Valcik also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Stillwater never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Emma Willard on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Jesters a 27-0 shutout. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Eden Resch and Sofia Perniciaro made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Resch pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Perniciaro tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Resch has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Resch got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one double, while Perniciaro went 4-for-5 with five runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katie Coogan, who went 4-for-6 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Kaiser, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Stillwater kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 23 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Hoosic Valley picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-5. As for Stillwater, their record is now 2-4.
Stillwater's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hoosic Valley has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Stillwater, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given Hoosic Valley's sizable advantage in that area, the Warriors will need to find a way to close that gap.
Hoosic Valley couldn't quite get it done against Stillwater when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 10-6. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
