Raymond Central proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 35) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. Loss or not, Wahoo got some senior leadership from Gracey Fairbanks and Gretchen Seagren. Fairbanks scored six points and six rebounds, while Seagren had five points in addition to eight boards and six blocks. Seagren is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last 21 games she's played.
Raymond Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.9 points over those games. With the defeat, Wahoo broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-10.
Looking ahead, Raymond Central will venture away from home to face off against North Bend Central at 7:00 p.m. on February 28th. North Bend Central is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Raymond Central a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
