Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for James Logan

James Logan extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 5-8. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Moreau Catholic Mariners. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

James Logan let Taliyah Munoz and Angela Guzman run wild. Munoz went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Guzman went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Guzman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Caylee Ledesma, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

As for Moreau Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games.

On Moreau Catholic's side, Lexi Mejia made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Mia Burrell, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. James Logan will welcome Newark Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Colts' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Moreau Catholic, they will challenge Washington at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mariners' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Huskies have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
