Roswell (N.M.) put up 21 points in the fourth quarter in Saturday's game to seal their 41-14 victory over
Santa Teresa (N.M.).
The Coyotes were up 20-7 at the half after taking the lead on a
Stephen Lucero touchdown pass to
Alex Hernandez in the first quarter.
A 21-point fourth quarter helped Roswell secure the big victory. RHS scored on a touchdown run by
David Nunez, a touchdown pass by Lucero to Hernandez and a Lucero touchdown pass to
Joseph Lovato in the quarter.
The Coyotes' standout player in the win was Lucero. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored nine touchdowns on the season.
Luke Perea played well for the Desert Warriors. The sophomore quarterback threw one touchdown.
When the two teams played each other last season, Roswell came away with a 49-12 victory.
Roswell (3-2) will play a non-conference game against Gadsden next week, while Santa Teresa (1-4) will take on Cathedral also in a non-conference game.
