Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oakwood). They secured a 64-60 W over the Slocum Mustangs on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Mustangs back in January, they had to take a 64-29 defeat.
Despite the loss, Slocum still got an impressive performance from Creede Kessel, who went 8-for-15 from beyond the arc to rack up 28 points and seven rebounds. Those 28 points gave Kessel a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Branden Brown, who went 6-for-12 en route to 14 points and six boards.
Oakwood's victory bumped their record up to 2-10. As for Slocum, their loss dropped their record down to 20-12.
Oakwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Slocum, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 41-33 win against Covington on the 18th.
