The Byron Tigers will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Rockford Auburn Knights at 6:45 p.m. Hopefully Byron is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Knights in Illinois (the Tigers are ranked 86th, while the Knights are ranked 251st).
After a string of three wins, Byron's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They suffered a tough 54-32 defeat at the hands of Orangeville. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Byron has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Rockford Auburn came into Friday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 56-48 victory over Belvidere on Friday.
Rockford Auburn relied on the efforts of Ava Gray, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds, and Alivia Brown, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Byron's loss dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Rockford Auburn, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-17.
