It was a good run, but the Rio Lindo Adventist Spartans unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 51-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pacific Union College Prep. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rio Lindo Adventist in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Rio Lindo Adventist still got an impressive performance from Jhordany Barcenas, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gian Paloma, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Rio Lindo Adventist's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Pacific Union College Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Rio Lindo Adventist and the Gators will face off on January 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Newbury Park Adventist is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Pacific Union College Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Crusaders at 6:00 p.m.
