Danville is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Bethesda Christian is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Danville Warriors will take on the Bethesda Christian Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up ten more assists than your opponent, a fact Danville proved on Saturday. They blew past Crawfordsville 51-11 on the road. Given Danville's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Crawfordsville is ranked 370th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Danville can attribute much of their success to Kooper Stone, who scored 13 points along with 5 steals, and Emma Ancelet, who scored 14 points along with 7 steals and 6 assists. The game was Ancelet's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Wethington, who scored 7 points.
Meanwhile, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Bethesda Christian made off with a 46-45 win over Lafayette Central Catholic.
Kenzie Fulks was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Another player making a difference was Sydney Goodin, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Danville's victory bumped their season record to 5-1 while Crawfordsville's loss dropped theirs to 0-8.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Danville and Bethesda Christian are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Danville hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 56.2 points per game. However, it's not like Bethesda Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 51.4 per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run up the score up higher Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
