Oakley is 2-8 against Ellis since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Oakley Plainsmen will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ellis Railroaders at 7:30 p.m.
Last Monday, Oakley was the victim of a rough 68-45 defeat at the hands of Norton. Oakley has not had much luck with Norton recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, Ellis scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Ness City out 66-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Oakley has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which lines up perfectly with their 4-12 record this season. As for Ellis, their win ended a eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-10.
Oakley skirted past Ellis 64-61 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Does Oakley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ellis turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
