4A Conference 20 recap October 29, 2013
Dinwiddie extended the longest winning streak in 4A Conference 20 this week by beating Hopewell, 43-7. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Generals.
Dinwiddie led the league in scoring this week after putting up 43 points on the Blue Devils.
Midlothian's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jordan Bassett threw for 38 yards and Carl Courter had 19 yards receiving. On the ground Courter chipped in 166 yards. Kaden Anderson helped Midlothian's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 19 yards.
The Trojans' dynamic duo of Bassett and Courter proved to be unstoppable against Huguenot, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Anderson helped Midlothian's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 19 yards.
Courter provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Midlothian bested the Falcons.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Caroline's Rasharrd Harris and Keyshwan Johnson have proven to be a lethal combination. Harris has thrown for 1,663 yards this season, while Johnson has 35 catches for 717 yards. Billy Mills' team's Sadarius Williams leads the league in rushing yards with 1,033.
A big matchup in 4A Conference 20 this week will be when Monacan takes on Kevin Thomas' team. At the moment, the Chiefs are in third, while the Trojans are in seventh.
Midlothian made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,398 from 10,140. The improvement was largely due to a 35-12 victory over Huguenot last week.
