Basketball Game Preview: Southeast of Saline Trojans vs. Smoky Valley Vikings

Southeast of Saline has gone 9-1 against Smoky Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Both will face off at 4:30 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Southeast of Saline picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They put the hurt on Trinity with a sharp 69-48 win.

Owen Bailey and Gannon Jacobson were among the main playmakers for Southeast of Saline as the former went 8 of 11 en route to 23 points and five rebounds and the latter went 7 for 10 on his way to 18 points and three steals. Jacobson's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiernan Ptacek, who went 5 for 8 en route to 11 points.

Southeast of Saline smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Smoky Valley). They enjoyed a cozy 62-45 victory over Kingman on Thursday.

Smoky Valley is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Southeast of Saline, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.

Everything came up roses for Southeast of Saline against Smoky Valley in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as the team secured a 67-23 victory. In that contest, Southeast of Saline amassed a halftime lead of 38-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
