Basketball Recap: Rohit Yalla's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Harker over Priory

Harker played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Priory Panthers, falling 78-57. The Eagles have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rohit Yalla, who posted six points along with seven boards and three steals. Yalla has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Vyom Vidyarthi was another key player, putting up ten points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Harker smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Leading Priory to victory were Mate Palotai and Teddy Xanthopoulos. Palotai dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 boards, while Xanthopoulos dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. With that strong performance, Palotai is now averaging an impressive 16.5 points per game. Another player making a difference was Michael Hildebrandt, who went 5 for 10 en route to 13 points and five boards.

Harker's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Priory, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harker will welcome Eastside College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Harker's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches. As for Priory, they will host Menlo School at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Priory is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 70.5 points per game this season.
