Madison hasn't had much luck against Dundee recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Trojans will welcome the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. Madison is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
Madison had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Sand Creek on Saturday. The Trojans were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Aggies. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 15 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Madison let Brian Dopp and Cameron Barber run wild. Dopp got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double, while Barber went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases Barber has posted since back in April of 2024.
Madison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dundee, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They skirted past Napoleon 5-4.
Cam Fairchild was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Angelo Graves was another key player, earning two RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
Dundee pushed their record up to 12-12 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Madison, their victory bumped their record up to 20-4.
Madison's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Trojans have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Dundee, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Madison continue to outrun the ball?
Madison might still be hurting after the 11-5 loss they got from Dundee in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Trojans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
